13.  SEEKING NEW K/NIBB/S

I'm always keen to recruit new members to the Mailing List and add more names to the One Name Study database.  This page started out as a Snowball Contest in a forlorn attempt to do just that.  The contest has now been abandoned but the enquiry form survives!  It can be used by newcomers to the website or anyone wishing to help expand the K/NIBB/S database.

The idea is that names on the returned forms can be compared with those in the database, hopefully establishing new links.  This will increase our knowledge of current KNIBB, KNIBBS and NIBBS families in a way that cannot be achieved by just studying the various indexes and directories, it also being the case that census returns are not generally available for at least 50, if not 100 years (UK) after they were taken.

Hopefully newly found K/NIBB/S will discover previously unknown connections and might then enter into the spirit of things by themselves sending a form to their nearest located namesake - more than one, why not!  Names can be gleaned by scanning a local telephone book.

Anyone reading this is similarly encouraged to enter into the spirit of the exercise - just send the nearest K/NIBB/S to you (or perhaps a friend/acquaintence) a greeting with a form and ask the recipient to return a filled in version to me, by post or email.  You could be the one who fortuitously finds a K/NIBB/S family who possess handed down information that solves a resarcher's brickwall.

Do start each form off by inputting the name of the person to whom you are sending the form (KNIBB, KNIBBS or NIBBS)  At the same time, please notify the mailing list or if not (yet!) a member, send an email to jackari2@aol.com.  Give the name/s, town and Country of the people you have contacted so that your host can keep track of things.  It is appreciated that you may only have initials; notifying full postal addresses is not required so as to avoid any confidentiality issues - see the promise given at the top of the form.
