First Generation  

Nanna Laurine POPPE  was born on 29 December 1853. She died in 1949.

Doctor Henrik Bolman Bjorn POPPE  was born in 1855 in Lillehammer, Norway. 

He died in 1923 in Wisconsin. Henrik married Emma ZWICKY  in 1882 in Wisconsin.

Dagny POPPE  was born in 1860 in Lillehammer, Norway. She died in 1938. 

Dagny married George Elwin HUNT  in 1892.

Alfhild POPPE  was born in 1863 in Hemnaes. She died in 1938 in Wisconsin. 

George Elwin HUNTmarried  an unknown  in Wisconsin.

Yngvar POPPE  was born in 1867 in Kristiana, Norway. Yngvar married Martha .

Second Generation  

"She left the Catholic church when she was 17 and her mother died. But she was a true Christian," said her daughter Mary Louis Miles. "We were raised Presbyterian." She added that she, Mary Louise, had a copy of her mother's baptism record and her marriage certificate.

She worked out from the age of 12 on.  She had the responsibility of raising younger brothers and sisters.  Had quite a time but the convent helped some. She was tall and slim, auburn hair, brown eyes. Got fat after her kids were born. She was baptised in the Notre Dame Church in Chippewa Falls.  She made a home for Olive until Olive married. She took Josephine from the convent until she (Josephine) married Ernest G. Poppe.

Mabel Octavia POPPE  ^{(Frederick 2,  Ulrik  Fredrik Mathias 1)}was born in 1903. She died in 1926.  She never married.

Harald Christoffer MALTHE  was born on 23 June 1886 in Kristiania, Norway. 

He  died on 8 May 1924 in Norway. Harald married Jenny MOXENS .

Third Generation

She has "3 wonderful sons and 3 good grandsons and of course, my two granddaughters are the most with their 4.0 high school grade average. Nancy is training for nurse (as of March 18, 1967) at Pacific Lutheran Univ. at Tacoma; Shirley has been accepted by Wash. University.

Her address was 4813 SE 72nd Ave, Portland, OR when I wrote her.  She sent Mom pictures of Great Falls and of the hospital Mom was born in.  She sent me much information and was the first genealogist of the family, I believe. She was active in politics and as a democrat since 1950.  Her favorite aunt was Emma OZIOS.  She was raised in NE North Dakota.  She and her husband homesteaded in Montana north of Joplin.  Her husband was a dry land farmer. Her 4th daughter died in childhood.  She resembled her mother.

According to Mary Louise Miless: The Miles are from the early settlers in the Tennesee and Kentucky mountains but they are demons for achievement.

Fourth Generation

Marcus MILES   ^{(Mary Louisa Poppe 3, Frederick William 2,  Ulrik  Fredrik Mathias 1)}was born in 1915/1916. Had 1 son, 1 daughter died in childhood. Was a Captain in the naval reserve & Sales superintendent in California, , perhaps Santa Monica. Marcus had the following children:

Manley MILES   ^{(Mary Louisa Poppe 3, Frederick William 2,  Ulrik  Fredrik Mathias 1)} was born in 1919/1920. Had 2 sons. Was a sales superintendent for Pabco Paints in Portland.

Manley had the following children:

Curtis MILES ^{(Mary Louisa Poppe 3, Frederick William 2,  Ulrik  Fredrik Mathias 1)}.

 Had two girls. He was a dispatcher for United Air Lines in California

Curtis had the following children:
