Charles married May HOFFMAN  daughter of Lawrence HOFFMAN and Catherine SCHRICHER.  They homesteaded in Michigan, coming from, new Jersey. Charles left the family when his son Leroy was young.  That's when May went to Chicago.  The marriage ended in divorce.

Married 2nd husband Bill in 1919 - May  was in Chicago as Nanny from about 1907 &  1919 when married Bill.  Isabelle took dollars sent by May for care of May's sons Lawrence & Roy. Catherine, May's mother raised them.

Family History: Machinist. He left the family when Leroy young. That's when May went to Chicago.  The name was originally COURTIER but it was changed when the family came to the US.  They homesteaded in Michigan, coming from New Jersey.

He was buried at Preakness Cemetery on 22/26 August 1926. The undertaker was Chas D. Legg, 94 Patterson St., Patterson, New Jersey, license # 84. He was married to Daisy Martin. He was born August 16 1870 and was 56 years and 3 days old. He was a building carpenter and worked for Cornelius Spykaboss. he was born in New Jersey. His father was Samuel Courter and his mother was Sarah C. Wilber. George Courter of 68 Norwood St, Haledon, was the informant.
