Dear little wife:- We intended to start home on above date at 6 P.M. but boat could not get off and will not leave now till Monday 10 A.M. 3rd. I write you this on account of its getting to you before I will. it goes up the river and we are going down which will take a few days longer and then I may stop on the coast a few days and probibly in Denver a few. but not long. for am anxious to see my little girl and boy I received three letters from you this week all dated May. I have fallen of the past two weeks to 148 1/2 # from 165 I once weighed 170# this winter but the hot sun has melted me away. have worked ard to get through. but the few days rest that I have had is making me feel good and am in hopes of having a nice trip out. I possibly may be at home before this letter but dont think so. as it is much further around then up river but is some cheaper
