FOWLER, Alfred S. 10 AUG 1823 22 NOV 1893 s/o Joel (d. 1853) & Sarah Fowlern.b. At least one other researcher, referencing Loaz Johnson's Greatness Without Fame, does not include Alfred S. Fowler and substitutes Alford M. Fowler (b:1824 d:1898). I have not seen a copy of Johnson and for now, I am using the cemetery records as the basis of my choice.
Will Record DeKalb County A, August 1839-November 1869. Page 295 as summarized online at the DeKalb Historical Society Will Index. The database shows Alfred is mentioned in the will of his mother Sara Fowler on 4-1-1854. In the database, Alfred's name is given as "Alfred M. Fowler". Interestingly, the same database does not show Alfred being mentioned in his father Joel's will on 12-22-1853, although several of his brothers are. Apparently in his will, Joel chose to mention the sons of his first wife.
