Annie Dressell Burrows

Funeral services for Annie Dressell Burrows, 96, of Palestine, were held Saturday
morning at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Rev. Harold Paulsen officiating. Burial
was in St. Joseph's Cemetery. A rosary was recited Friday evening at the Hassell &
Foster Funeral Home chapel. Mrs. Burrows died Friday morning at Palestine Nursing
Center. She was born May 27, 1887, in St. Louis, Mo., a daughter of the late Louis
Dressell and Mary Kraus Dressell. In 1967, she moved from Chicago to Palestine. She
was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was predeceased by her husband,
Claude Burrows. Survivors include a foster son, Jimmy Evans of Houston; a sister-in-law,
Mrs. Tony (Verna) Dressell of Palestine, and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers
were Donald Dressell, Tony Dressell, Bill Dressell, Jack Melton, David Bourassa, Paul
Dressell and Jerry Francis.
