Herman W. Phillips

Graveside services for Herman W. Phillips, 88, of Palestine will be held at 10 a.m.
Monday at Roselawn Park with the Revs. Gerald Hall and Charles Grasty officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster Funeral Home. Mr. Phillips
died Friday in the Hospice Home Place in Tyler. He was born June 29, 1915 in
Mississippi to Oliver Windell Phillips and Sudie Mae Allen Phillips. Mr. Phillips
was a Baptist. He worked for Nix Steel Company as a steel worker. He was preceded
in death by his parents; wife, Flora Marie Phillips in June 2003; and a daughter,
Betty Gonzales. Mr. Phillips is survived by daughters, Dimple Patrick of Huffman
and Debbie Neil of Humble; son, Harold Phillips of Palestine and seven grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Nugent, Calvin Manbeck, David Brown, Andy Gonzales, Justin
Thomas, Bryan Stanaland, Bobby Patrick and Jerry Neil. Condolence calls can be made
from 7 to 9 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.
