Era Baker Campbell

Services for Mrs. Dee (Era) Campbell, 88, of Palestine, will be at 10 a.m. Friday
at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home with the Revs. Lynn Parker and Floyd Petersen
officiating. Burial will be at Roselawn Park. Mrs. Campbell died Wednesday at
Memorial Hospital. She was born in Indian Territory, Okla., on Feb. 23, 1901, a
daughter of R.C. and Elizabeth Forkner Baker. Before retiring, she managed a laundry
at North Jackson Street and Palestine Avenue. She was a member of First Baptist
Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dee Campbell, on August 12,. 1988.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Homer (Teresa) White of Palestine; sister, Mrs.
G.C. Spann of Abilene; a granddaughter; three great grandchildren; and one great
great grandchild. Condolence calls will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the
funeral home. Pallbearers will be Norris Cunningham, Chester Hendrick, Emmett
Hendrick, C.J. Moran, Joe E. Chaffin, Joe Grumbles and Tommy Nivens.
