Thelma E. Fitzgerald

ATHENS - Funeral services for Thelma E. Fitzgerald, 87, of Athens, will be at
2 p.m. Friday at Foster & Brown Funeral Home chapel, with Art Miers and Joe
Swenkie officiating. Burial will be at the Rock Church Cemetery in Anderson
County. Mrs. Fitzgerald died Wednesday in an Athens nursing home after a lengthy
illness. She was born Feb. 5, 1897, in Alabama, and had lived most of her life
in Anderson and Henderson counties. Survivors include three sons, Cleveland
Fitzgerald of Hope, Ark., W.C. Fitzgerald of Akron, Ohio and Ray Fitzgerald; two
daughters, Ruby Brink and Audrey Herrington, both of Athens; eight grandchildren,
and 15 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Grover C.
Fitzgerald in 1979. Pallbearers will be George Herrington, Bob Herrington, Glynn
Herrington, Charles Lowe, Leon Johnson and Treva Sossaman.
