Arthur Baker

Services for Arthur Baker, 81, of Montalba, will be at noon Saturday in
Providence Baptist Church with the Revs J.C. Delley and R.C. Emanuel
officiating. Burial will be in Providence Cemetery under the direction
of Emanuel Funeral Home. Mr. Baker died Monday at Memorial Hospital. He
was born Aug. 26, 1909, in Anderson County. He was educated at Providence
School, and was a member of Providence Baptist Church, where he served as
president of the usher board, trustee, and superintendent of Sunday School.
He also served on the F.H.A. committee. He married Annie Mae Kelley on
Sept 14, 1934. He was preceded in death by one son. He is survived by his
wife of Montalba; sons, Sulden Baker of Neches, and Alger Ben Baker of
Plano; daughters, Myrtie Baker of Palestine, Lena Hamilton of Dallas, Manda
Sessions of Port Arthur, and Elnora Brown of Arlington; brother, Tommie
Williams of Dallas; 15 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
