Annie M. Kelley Baker

MONTALBA - Services for Annie M. Baker, 75, of Montalba, will be at
11 a.m. Saturday at Providence Baptist Church with the Rev. J.C. Delley
officiating. Burial will be at Providence Cemetery under the direction
of Emanuel Funeral Home. A wake will be held from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday
at the funeral home. Mrs. Baker died Monday at Memorial Hospital. She was
born in Montalba on May 29, 1918, to John and Anna Winn Kelley. She
attended school at Providence, and received her Nurse's Aid Certificate
from Henderson County Junior College in 1979. She was a lifelong member
of Providence Baptist Church, and served as president of Senior Mission
and as a Sunday School teacher. She was a member of the Order of Eastern
Star Queen of Sheba No. 170. She married Arthur Baker of Sept 14, 1934,
and he preceded her in death in 1990. She also was preceded in death by a
son, Lee Baker; sister, Carrie Hunt; and brothers, Lummie Allen and Henry
Allen. She is survived by her children, Myrtie Baker and Sulden Baker of
Palestine, Alger B. Baker of Plano, Lena M. Hamilton of Dallas, Manda P.
Session of Port Arthur and Elnora Brown of Arlington; sisters, Maggie High
and Gloria Kelley of Palestine, Carlena Ingram of Tennessee Colony and Roxie
Watson of Dallas; 15 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
