James William Seat
Athens Weekly Review - Sept. 30, 1948


Funeral services for the late James William Seat, 64 years of age,
were conducted at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon at the Judson Baptist
Church at Cayuga by Rev. H. C. Funderbunk, pastor of the church,
assisted by the Rev. R. B. McDonald, pastor of the Assembly of God
congregation. Mr. Seat died in a Jacksonville hospital after a short
illness. He was a lifelong resident of the Cayuga community where he
was engaged in farming and livestock raising. He is survived by the
widow, six daughters, Mrs. Mary Lee Turlington of Malakoff, Mrs.
Lucille Randolph of Houston. Mrs.. Hattie Mae Grimes of Conroe, Mrs.
Claude Murry of Bethel, Mrs. Ruby Shields of Magnolia, Ark., and Mrs.
Mildred Middleton of Lufkin. A brother, J. W. Seat of Cayuga and two
sisters, Mrs. M. C. Pitts of Mercedes, and Mrs. Belle Bronson of New
Fork, Va., also survive. There are 14 grandchildren. Interment was
made in the Judson Cemetery at Cayuga under the direction of the
Hassel & Foster Funeral Home of Athens.
