Bulah Gilcrease

Services for Bulah Gilcrease, 83, of Elkhart, will be at 2 p.m.
Thursday at First Baptist Church in Elkhart with the Rev. Floyd
Petersen officiating. Burial will be at Garden of Memories in
Elkhart under the direction of Bailey & Foster Funeral Home. Mrs.
Gilcrease died Tuesday at Trinity Valley Medical Center. She was
born in McKinney on Oct. 29, 1909, to Marvin Claude and Helen
Gertrude McKinney Hortman. She was a member of First Baptist
Church in Elkhart. Mrs. Gilcrease was preceded in death by her
husband, William Lee Gilcrease, on Nov. 7, 1971; and a brother,
Elbert Hortman. She is survived by her daughters, Mary Lucille
Dickey of Lufkin and Myrna Stovall of Elkhart; son, James Perry
Gilcrease of Katy; sisters, Bessie Scroggins of Beaumont, Martha
Dunnam of Palestine, Jewel Rainey of Angleton and Dora Quarles
of Houston; brothers, Marion Hortman and Marvin C. Hortman Jr.,
both of Elkhart; six grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Buel Grigsby Jr., Byron Davis, Darell Hortman,
Edward Dancer, Lee Bridges and Ronnie McKinney. Condolence calls
will be received from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
