Thomas M. Colley

Services for Thomas M. Colley, 76, of Kerrville, and formerly of Palestine, will
be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Philip's Episcopal Church with the Rev. Mike Glenn
officiating. Burial will follow in Palestine City Cemetery under the direction of
Bailey & Foster. Mr. Colley died Wednesday at Sid Peterson Hospital in Kerrville.
He was born on Aug. 10, 1926 in Port Arthur to Thomas Milton Colley Sr. and Dorothy
Davey Colley. Mr. Colley was a stock broker. He served in the U.S. Air Force during
World War II. He attended Palestine High School and the Shriner Institute in Kerrville.
Mr. Colley received a geology degree from the University of Texas. He was preceded
in death by a son, Thomas Colley III. Mr. Colley is survived by his wife, Janice Colley
of Kerrville; daughters, Ann Colley Fowler of Hutto, Susan Colley Joplin of Oklahoma
City, Okla.; and two grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Michael Bennett, Dr. John
McCall, David Sprowl, Ernest Swift, Paul Elliott and Marley Styner. Honorary pallbearers
will be Andy Phillips, Robert Smith, Don Hoot, Harry Roberts, John R. Freeland and George
Etz. Condolence calls will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Thomas Colley

After a heroic fight with numerous illnesses, Palestine native,
Thomas Milton Colley, Jr., entered eternal life with great dignity
on November 13 in Kerrville, Texas. Businessman, entrepreneur, but
most of all stock broker and manager of area offices of A.G. Edwards
in East Texas, he continued to give good market advice up until his
final hours on the earth. Tom was born in Port Arthur, Texas, son of
Dorothy Davey Colley Cason and Tomas M. Colley. He grew up in Palestine,
Texas and served in the Army Air Force in the Pacific Theatre. Following
his service duties, he graduated from the University of Texas with a
degree in Geology and always maintained an interest in oil and gas matters.
Tom was a great family man and will be remembered as a loving husband,
father, grandfather, father-in-law and friend to many, for with his
thoughtfulness, many acts of kindness, loving and strong spirit, this
Southern gentleman was a truly gentle man.
He is survived by his wife, Janice: daughter, Susan Colley Joplin and
son-in-law Larry E. Joplin of Oklahoma City; daughter, Ann Colley Fowler
and son-in-law Jerry B. Fowler; grandchildren, Jacob Fowler and Kimberly
Fowler, all of Hutto, Texas; sister, Dorothy Nell Colley of Genoa, Nevada.
He is predeceased by his son, Thomas M. Colley III and brother, Martin
Davey Colley. A Holy Eucharist service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday
November 16, at St. Phillip's Episcopal Church, Palestine, Texas, the Rev.
Mike Glen officiating. Interment will follow at Palestine East Hill Cemetery.
