Services for Idell Black, 83, of Fort Myers, Fla. and formerly of
Palestine, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in East Hill Cemetery with
the Rev. Wally Goodman officiating. Burial will be under the
direction of Bailey & Foster Funeral Home. Mrs. Black died at 3:40 p.m.
Sunday in the Cape Coral Hospital in Cape Coral, Fla. She was born
Nov. 10, 1907, in Palestine, a daughter of the late John William and
Epsie McKinney Moore. She was an operator for the Palestine Telephone
Company from 1927 to 1963, and was a member of Norwood Heights Baptist
Church and of the Rebekah Lodge. She lived in Palestine until she moved
to Florida three years ago. She was preceded in death by her husband,
Horace E. Black, in 1985. She is survived by a son, Bruce E. Black of
North Fort Myers, Fla; five grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
