Norma Virginia Waldon Atkins

Services for Norma Virginia Waldon, 79, of Montalba, will be at 10
a.m. Wednesday at Herrington/Land of Memory Chapel with the Rev.
Larry Bewley officiating. Burial will follow at Concord Cemetery.
Mrs. Waldon died Saturday at Palestine Regional Medical Center. She
was born March 27, 1923, in Louisiana to John Thomas and Georgia Mae
Carpenter Atkins. Mrs. Waldon had lived in Anderson County since
1952. She had been a director at Southside Baptist Church Daycare
for many years. She was a member of Montalba Baptist Church. She
was preceded in death by her husband, Arvis Williams Waldon Sr.,
in 1998; and sister, Jeannine BeCraft, in 2000. Mrs. Waldon is
survived by sons, Arvis Waldon of Trinity, Tom Waldon of Texas
City, Richard Waldon of Germany, Paul Waldon of Austin, and Jerry
Waldon and Norman Waldon, both of Palestine; daughter, Norma
Mullican of Montalba; 18 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren
and one great great grandchild. Pallbearers will be Josh Waldon,
Jon Waldon, Dale Waldon, Doug Mullican, Jason Waldon, Luke Waldon
and Clint Waldon. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the
funeral home. Memorials may be made to Montalba Baptist Church.
