Morris Hanks

MONTALBA - Funeral services for Morris S. Hanks, 70, of Montalba,
will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church, the Rev. Theo
Johnson and the Rev. Bud Magee officiating. Burial will be in
Concord Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home of
Palestine. Mr. Hanks died Saturday at Houston County Memorial
Hospital in Crockett. A lifelong resident of Anderson County, he
was born Feb. 13, 1913, a son of the late Walter F. and Laura Susan
Winkinson Hanks. He was a retired supervisor with Glass Containers
Corp. and was a deacon and former song director of the Montalba
First Baptist Church. He had been active with the Anderson County
Red Cross. Survivors include his wife, Audrey Dancer Hanks of
Montalba; three sons, Don Hanks of West, Dale Hanks of Garland and
Michael Hanks of Amsterdam, the Netherlands; a stepson, Doyle
Campbell of Palestine; a brother, Elmo Hanks of Garland; a sister,
Estelle Barber of Saudi Arabia; seven grandchildren, and a great
granddaughter. Gransons will be pallbearers. Deacons of First
Baptist Church have been named honorary pallbearers.
