Robert W. Green

Services for Robert W. "Bob" Green, 78, of Palestine, will be
at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Bean-Massey-Burge Chapel in Grand
Prairie with the Rev. Larry Bewley officiating. Burial will be
at 3 p.m. at Concord Cemetery in Montalba. Mr. Green died Sunday
in Palestine. He was born March 23, 1919 in Portland, Ind. Mr.
Green retired from the City of Grand Prairie where he served for
15 years as a plumbing inspector and on the Planning and Zoning
Board and the Plumbing Board. He served in the U.S. Army Corps
in the Pacific during World War II. Mr. Green was a fourth degree
Knight with the Knights of Columbus. He was a past Post Commander
for the V.F.W. Post No. 4477 and also was a member of the Montalba
Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Nell Green
of Palestine; son, Kenneth Green of Palestine; daughter, Patricia
Becraft of Palestine; sisters, Alma Payne of Dayton, Ohio and Cleo
Gels of St. Henry, Ohio; five grandchildren; and four great
grandchildren.
