Byron M. Boykin

Services for Byron M. Boykin, 83, of Pasadena and formerly of
Palestine, will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Concord Cemetery with
Dr. Jerry Payne officiating. Arrangements are under the
direction of Bailey & Foster Funeral Home, Palestine. Mr.
Boykin died Thursday at Veterans Medical Center in Houston.
He was born on Nov. 18, 1914, in Limestone County, to Clyde
Daniel and Willie Nora Burch Boykin. Mr. Boykin was a retired
industrial welder and served as a staff sergeant with the Air
Corp Engineers during World War II. He was a member of Concord
Baptist Church and Masonic Lodge No. 1399 in Pasadena and was
a past Master of Palestine Lodge No. 31. He is survived by his
wife, Bertha E. Boykin of Pasadena; daughters, Maudine Starling
of Tyler and Loretta Hair of St. Cloud, Fla.; sons, Robert Boykin
of Winnsboro and Byron M. Boykin Jr. of Pasadena; nine
grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
