Dessie E. Lee Baker

Services for Mrs. Dessie E. Baker, 73, of Crosby and formerly of Palestine will be
at 10 a.m. Saturday at Bailey and Foster Funeral Home with the Rev. Terry Skinner
officiating. Burial will be in the Broyles Chapel Cemetery. Mrs. Baker died Thursday
in the San Jacinto Hospice in Baytown. She was born Dec. 29, 1916 in Arkansas, to
Sam and Mattie Weaver Lee. Mrs. Baker was a member of the Sheridan Terrace Baptist
Church and was a practical nurse. She lived in Palestine for many years. She was
preceded in death by her husband, Herman Claude Baker on March 7. Mrs. Baker is
survived by a daughter, Sue Morgan of Crosby; sons, Elzie Brown and Floyd Morgan,
both of Conroe; sisters, Artie Clardy of Houston, Betty Ellis of Palestine, Nettie
Massie of Conroe and Annie Mae Price of Midlothian; and 12 grandchildren. Condolence
calls will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Grandsons will
serve as pallbearers.
