In a letter written Feb 8, 1818 by Samuel's parents say Samuel is living with them in Shepton Montague Somerset. In a letter written Feb 27, 1821 his parents state "Samuel is gone from us and works on the road handy to London". In a letter dated Jan 29, 1850 his parents states "heard from Samuel awhile ago and they are very poorly as they lost 2 or 3 children to to Cholera along with thousands more in London". In a letter Feb 1851 the parents say Samuel is doing well and he is a tar merchant and has lived at the same place for 20 years or more.
