Mr Henry Bunny Commits Suicide.
|_Per PRESS ASSOCIATION Wellington. This day. Inspector Thomson has received a telegram to tbe effect that Mr Henry Bunny, the well-known politician, shot humself dead in the Town Board office at Featherston yesterday. Later. Mr. Bunny was formerly Provincial Secretary and Treasurer, and was a member of the House of Representatives for many years. He shot himself with a revolver. Death was instantaneous. He had been in a despondent state lately in consequence of his defeat at the general election. He also felt the death of hia old chief, Sir William Fitzherbert, very keenly. Latest. The only particulars of Mr Bunny's death known so far are that he had refreshments in the hotel yesterday morning. He then borrowed the key of tbe Council Chambers, sat in the chair, and shot himself through the stomach. An inquest is proceeding.

The Late Henry Bunny.
[Per Press Association WELLINGTON, Feb. 17. Henry Bunny's life was insured in the Government Insurance Office for £2OOO, but the premiums were considerably in arrears, and the surrender value was exhausted some few weeks ago, so the policy lapsed. By Mr Bunny's death, vacancies are caused on the Education Board, Waste Lands Board, College Governors and Stock Board, besides in several local bodies in the Wairarapa. At the inquest, Dr Bey said the deceased suffered from sciatica and melancholia, and that anyone in that state would be liable to commit suicide. Deceased was sixty eight years of age.

SUICIDE OF HENRY BUNNY.
(Per United Press Association.) Wellington, February 16.
Inspector Thompson received a telegram stating that Henry Bunny the well-known politician shot himself dead in the Town Board office at Featherston yesterday.
Henry married Catherine BAKER circa 1849. (Catherine BAKER died on 24 Jul 1864 in Wellington, Wellington, New Zealand and was buried on 27 Jul 1864 in Karori Cemetery, Wellington, New Zealand.). The cause of her death was Childbirth complications?.
Henry next married Eliza THORNE, daughter of Samuel THORNE Esq. and Unknown, on 30 Jan 1867 in Featherston, Wairarapa, New Zealand. (Eliza THORNE was born circa 1835 in Chapeltown, Yorkshire, England and died on 5 Mar 1915 in Opaki, Wairarapa, New Zealand.)
