I emailed you on the issue same time ago. This is the finding on my wife's great grandmother Catherine Wilmshurst, with connections to the Wilmshurst family of South Australia,
Catherine 1860 - 1893 Married, George Knott 12 Jun 1879
I have always had the belief that Catherine was somehow related to William John Wilmshurst and Mary Annie KEELEY in some way, I been thinking adoption. Every time I tried to find Catherine family I always ended with these two, but had no confirmation.
This is how we come to a judgment on Catherine parents; just. starting from the arrival of Mary Annie KEELEY on the ship BEE, reversing on the process to find Catherine parents.
Catherine's mother Mary Annie KEELEY arrived on the ship Bee 9th October 1858. Also on the ship was Patrick CREAMER (Catherine's father) his Parent's John and Esther (Etty) and two brothers, John, Thomas and sister Annie Connor nee Creamer. There is a few variation in the shipping records, listed with the CREAMER and KEELEY surname in South Australian Advertiser (Adelaide, SA : 1858 - 1889), (South Australian Register (Adelaide, SA : 1839 - 1900) and The Ship List web site.
This entry in BISA . . . I am positive that Patrick and Mary Annie weren't married, but for Catherine baptism stated they were: CRAMER Patrick arr: by 1860 res: Adelaide rel: RC m: Anne nee KELLY ch: Cath (1860-) NOTE: Cath, short for Catherine 1860
Entry into the birth registration KEALLEY female child not named b: 20 May 1860 Father: Patrick CRAMMER Mother: Ann KEALLEY Birth Place/Residence: Adelaide Ade / Book: 15 / Page: 348 Symbol: X X referenced Registration. Major Spelling Variation between Registar and Informant. Confusion between given and surnames and ambiguity of which parents surname is to be used for the child.
Just by the two points above we can deduce that a female Catherine b: 20 May 1860.
We come to gloomy part of Catherine start in life from the South Australian Register 22 October 1862
