AN INTERESTING WEDDING. It is long since there has been such a large and pretty wedding in Marlborough as that which took place on Saturday. It was held at Mr Vavasour's residence (Ugbrooke). The bride was Miss Gwendolen Vavasour, and the bridegroom Mr lan Johnston. An exceedingly pretty private chapel had been put up for the occasion. His Grace Archbishop Redwood, assisted by Rev. Father Holley and IW. Father Fay, celebrated Nuptial Mass before the marriage cevemony. The bride wore a lovely white satin imported gown, artistically embellished with silver embroideries and lace threaded with silver. A long court train lined with chiffon was worn. A coronate of orange blossoms was worn under a voluminous tuile veil. The bouquet was of orchids and roses. The eight bridesmaids were- Miss Blanche Vavasour, Miss Doris Johnston, Aliss Nancy Johnston, Miss Belle Griffiths; the four small bridesmaids were Pearl and Betty Vavasour, Susie Duncan, Gwen Griffiths. They all wore very charming frocks of a delicate shade of heliotrope ninon de roie over silk: heliotrope hats lined with silver and wreathed with pink and blue flowcrs. They carried bouquets ot sweet peas Mr O. Johnston was best man. Jhe groomsmen were Mr J Grace, Mr G. Vavasour, Mr R. Beetham(Brancepeth), Dr. Griffin (Christchurch. A large marque ha, been erected for the reception. A Lovely bell of white flowers hung over the young couple when they received the congratulations of their friends The bride's travelling gown was of lotus blue charmeuse over silk. A brown hat and coat were worn with it The wedding trip is being taken in Auckland and the happy couple passed though Feilding yesterday en route
