Henry McGHEE

   Cause of his death was Accidental death.

Henry died as the result of an accident at Massacre Bay on 13 Dec 1857 aged 27. According to early notes from Golden Bay, a Henry McVee (possible error) was a miner there. Takaka coal mines started in 1842 but gold not until 1857 which was the year he died accidently. They were in Stockport Cheshire in 1841 prior to emigration so might have been Irish in origin although many Scottish peolple emigrated to NZ so that is also a possibility. .

Henry married about 1856.
