Election of Local Committee under the Education Act. — At a meeting held on the appointed day, for choosing a local committee for the above-named district, the following householders were elected, viz. : — Alfred Saunders, Waimea South; Edward Baigent, Lower Wakefield; John Griffiths, Wakefield; John Mears, Wakefield; John Wilson, Eighty-eight Valley; Joshua Bird, Lower Wakefield ; William Hammond, Spring Grove; George Rutherford, Spring Grove; William Hildreth, Mount Heslington.
And at a meeting held on the same day, Mr. William Hildreth was elected, without a division, chairman of the local committee; and Mr. Alfred Saunders was elected, also without a division, to represent the district in the central board.
