A very pretty wedding took place at the residence of Mrs Salton, Eton Street, on Wednesday, 3rd September, 1919, when her third daughter, Grace Ivy Templeton, was united in tbe bonds of holy matrimony to Mr Steven Allan, fourth son of Mr Peter Allan, late of Feldwich, by the Rev. Alex Macdonald of Otautau. The marriage was the more interesting as both bride and bridegroom had known each other from childhood. The bride looked charming in a crepe de-chin* blouse, white silk costume, and wearing the usual veil and orange blossoms. She was given away by her brother, William. The bride was attended by her sister, Miss lona Salton, who wore a white silk costume, with net blouse and pretty pale blue hat. The bridegroom was attended by bis brother, Mr Samuel Allan as best man. The bridegroom's present to the bride was a gold wristlet watch, and to tbe bridesmaid a gold broach set with pearls and amethysts. The bride's present to the bridegroom was a set of pipes. The happy couple were the recipients of many handsome presents inclusive of many cheques. At the wedding breakfast, which took place at the residence of the. bride's mother, the following toast list was gone through: "Bride and Bridegroom," proposed by Rev, A. Macdonald, responded to by tbe bridegroom Bridesmaid proposed by Mr Hardy, responded by the best man The Bride's Mother proposed by Mr J. Bird, responded by Mr W. Salton "Bridegroom's Father" proposed by Mr Campbell, responded by Mr Samuel Allan The Chairman proposed by Mr Low, responded to by Rev. A. Macdonald, and others The happy couple left midst showers of rice and confetti by motor car for Queenstown, where the honeymoon is to be spent. The bride's travelling dress was a nigger brown gabardeen costume, with black and gold lace hat In tbe evening Mrs Salton entertained her friends at her residence where a very enjoyable evening was spent in songs and dancing till an early hour of the morning.
