bullet  General Notes:

Evening Standard 24 Dec 1914
Wedding Bells
At the All Saints church on Monday 21 December 1914, a quiet pretty wedding was solemised, the contracting part being miss Ethel JOHNSON, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs C. EDMONDS, of Broad Street and Mr Alexander BUICK, youngest son of Mrs J BUICK, Tiakitahuna.
The bride who was given away by her father, looked charming in a handsome robe of soft white charmeuse satin daintily trimmed with limerick lace. She wore the orthodox veil and orange blossoms and carried a beautiful bouquet of white carnatons and sweet peas with sprays of maidenhair and asparagus fern with white satin streamers. She was assisted by Mess Ruby PAWSON and Miss Rita EDMONDS only sister of the bride who looked sweet in dainty dresses of white embroidered voile and white satin hats with pink roses. They carried bouquets of pink sweetpeas and sprays of asparagus fern with white satin streamers.
The bridegroom was attended by Mr W WALLACE as bestman and Mr C EDMONDS as groomsman
The Rev J G Rosher was the officiating clergyman.
The brides present to the groom was a gold-mounted walking stick. The grooms present to the bride was a handsome gold brooch and to the bridesmaids gold bangles. After the ceremony the guests were entertained in the Foresters Hall, where a stupendous breakfast was partaken of during which several toasts were duly honoured.
The presents were handsome and costly, including several cheques. Special mention may be made of the handsome bouquet which were the work and gift of Mrs G F DECLEY.

The happy couple left during the afternoon for Napier where a brief honey moon will be spent before they take up their future residence at Rawhatu. The brides travelling dress was a grey cosume with saxe blue hat to match.
