On Wednesday last, Kiwitea was en fete for the occasion of Mr. Barrett's marriage to Miss Margaret Perry, which took place at the newly erected residence of Mr. A.J. Perry, the bride's father. The ceremony was performed by Reverend Cannell of Sandon and in the evening a large number (about 80) of friends of the bridal couple assembled to do honour to the occasion by enjoying a dance given by the bride's parents.
