GRACE FREEMAN HOURN was born in 1876 in Murrurundi, NSW, Australia. Her father was Charles Hourn and her mother was Eliza Hourn nee Hilder. Her parents had six children before Grace, one of whom had died. Present at Grace's birth were Dr. Knowles and Mrs Chadban. The birth was registered on 23rd June 1876 at Murrurundi, by Grace's mother, Eliza Hourn.
Grace had a daughter in 1893 and the NSW Births Deaths and Marriages lists the birth of IRENE STELLA HOURN 29 July 1893 and no name is listed for the father.
Grace married JAMES A MACEVOY on 29th November 1893 in the Church of St Silas, Waterloo but the marriage ended in divorce 4th May 1897.
Grace then married GEORGE COWDREY 29th May 1897 in Murrurundi NSW Australia. George was a Bootmaker. George died aged 70 years and they had been married for 22 years. Grace Freeman Cowdrey died on 31st December 1949 at SYDNEY NSW.
