He was a stone cutter who came to Chicago to work on the museums and the outer bridge. Then he worked on the University of Chicago Hospital. There were cement carved fountains at he hospital so he bought it home and put flowers in it. He made bird baths when he was out of work.
When he moved to USA from Scotland his brother Adam and a couple of sisters went to NZ. George Crabb came to USA but returned to Scotland.
