George and Mary Ann were married on 20 May 1862 in the Middle Lambrook Chapel, SOMERSET, ENGLAND,UNITED KINGDOM; their witnesses were James Talbot and Mary Ann Stuckey. George's profession/trade is given as "labourer".

They set sail from Plymouth on 23 July 1862 aboard the "Utopia" to come to Australia; they were among 324 "hand picked" immigrants of primarily English and Scottish descent with a few from Ireland. The "Utopia" arr ived in Rockhampton, QLD, on 11 Nov 1862

George was described as a "labourer" on Elizabeth Ellen' birth certificate

He was described as a "grazier" on his death certificate - he is buried
in the South Rockhampton (QLD) cemetery.

George married Mary Ann BESGROVE, daughter of Job BESGROVE and Hannah MALE, on 20 May 1862 in Lambrook,Somersetshire,England.¹⁵¹³ (Mary Ann BESGROVE was born in 1843 in Lambrook,Somersetshire,England and died on 30 Apr 1923 in Rockhampton,Queensland,Australia.)
