Recognized as being a brilliant scholar. Dux of Girls 1926 Fort Street Girls School in 1927. First place in NSW state competition for Matriculation Scholarships in 1931. Leaving Certificate with first class honors in Latin, French and Maths in 1932. Batchelor of Arts degree in 1935. She became a teacher for the NSW department of education. Worked for a time out west at Coonamble Public School.
She prepared much of the "Trowel" series of study guides for Church of England Sunday Schools in NSW during 1960's and into the 1970's.
The family lived at Schofields until after the last of the children had married, then Doris and Arthur moved to Toongabbie. NSW
