Franklin JACKES
Franklin Jackes and Catharine Gibson came from England in 1824, and were married the following year. Franklin Jackes, who was a baker by trade, carried on his business in York until 1836, when he removed to Eglinton where he died in 1852, aged forty-eight years. His mother is still living and is seventy-seven years of age. Mr. Jackes, sen'r, was one of the Aldermen of Toronto, and after he removed to Eglinton became Reeve of York Township and Warden of the county. He was commissioned a Justice of the Peace in 1837.
Died of smallpox Franklin married Catherine B GIBSON on 11 Nov 1825 in Niagara-On-The-Lake,Ontario,Canada. (Catherine B GIBSON was born on 28 Jul 1808 in Langholm,Dumfries,Scotland and died on 18 Nov 1886 in Deer Park,Toronto,Ontario,Canada.) |
