Died: 1943, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia at age 45
Roy Dingwall Cunliffe was born in 1898, the ninth and youngest child of Margaret and John Robert Cunliffe.
After attending the local school at Woollahra, he gained employment at Swains, where he performed clerical duties.
He apparently suffered rheumatic fever as a child and never enjoyed the best of health but he was obviously like his sister, Wils, and had a great aptitude for figures. The results of examinations of the Association of Accountants for which he sat, show him as obtaining Second Place in Australia for the full Final Examination in 1938.
Roy lived with his parents and unmarried sisters at 6 Arthur Street, Edgecliff, and after his parents death moved, with Clarice and Wils, first to Gordon and then to Lindfield where he died in 1943. Notes thanks to Mike Syme
