A most painful accident took place at Campbelltown last Monday, . the sufferer being a settler named Henry Ehrhorn. It appears (says the Fox ton paper) the man was engaged by Hr George Dear in bush fulling, and the accident happened through an old dead tree coming down without warning, and as said, the poor fellow was unable to get out of the way. Mr Perrett, also a settler here, who was looking out; for cattle, came at once to his assistance, and seeing the state of the case, he immediately called the neighbours, who, after a deal of trouble, got the sufferer out and brought him to his home. : Dr Frood, who shortly arrived at the spot, found that Ehrhorn's thigh-bone was broken, and also a serious fracture to the jaw bone. He ordered the patient's removal to the Wanganni Hospital. Fourteen of his fellow settlers carried him on Wednesday to the Tramway station, and in charge of Messrs Dahl and Larsen left by the 12.30 train. Credit is due to the guard, Mr Malcolm, and the engine driver, Mr Mills, for the kind and painstaking manner in which they received the man and made him as comfortable as possible. Ehrhorn is a well kuown settler here, and great sympathy is felt for his wife and children. ,
Letters of naturalisation were sent to the following people of the Wellington, Wairarapa and Manawatu areas in November 1890
