THE GAY CHIEF CLAIM
The civil claim for £1500 in respect of Gay Chief, which was to have been heard before Mr. Justice .Blair at last week's session of the Supreme; Court at Napier, lias been adjourned until the November session.
Gay Chief-was killed-in a fall during, a race, at Trentham. The claim is being; brought by Frederick W. Ehrhorn against Percy Atkins,- a jockey. The plaintiff claims that the loss of the racehorse was due to negligent riding by the defendant

FARMER AND JOCKEY
(By Telegraph— Press Association.. NAPIER, November 23.
A charge of using insulting language to the well-known jockey, Percy Christ tian Atkins, was made against Frederick a William Ehrhorn, farmer, of Hawera, at the Magistrate's Court this morning.; The words complained .of were: "You dirty rotter."
The prosecution was the result of a civil action heard in the Supreme Court at Napier when Ehrhorn was nonsuited in a claim for £1500 for the loss of the" racehorse Gay Chief, allegedly through negligent riding by Atkins.
"After the civil action was over I went out on to the Parade' and talked to a number of my friends," said Atkins. "I saw Ehrhorn on the Parade, and while I was speaking to some friends he came up and. said:
I suppose you are satisfied now, you dirty rotter, but I'll get even, with you later.' He seemed very, annoyed about the case."
The Magistrate convicted Ehrhorn and ordered him.to.come up for, sentence if called upon within twelve months. He was also ordered to pay the costs of the prosecution and to undertake not to molest Atkins in future.
Frederick married Clara Matilda LAWSON, daughter of John Charles LAWSON and Hannah WHITTINGTON, in 1910. (Clara Matilda LAWSON was born in 1886 and died in 1960.)
