Obituary of John W. Kinnick

John W. Kinnick, 86, died Friday, Dec. 27, 2002. He was a resident of Carmel and a former resident of Whiteland and Phoenix.

He was born March 8, 1916, in Johnson County. His parents were Jabez and Adda (Maze) Kinnick. He married May E. (Huffman) Kinnick. She preceded him in death. Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Potts of Carmel and Adda Katherine Friddle of Canton, Ohio; a son, James Thomas Kinnick of Franklin; eight grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a grandson.

He was a farmer and was employed by New York Central and Southern Pacific Railroads as an electrician.

He was a former member of Community Congregational Church in Franklin. He had been a Clark Township trustee and president of the Johnson County Farm Bureau. He was a member of Pleasant Masonic Lodge in Acton and the Sabbar Shrine in Tucson, Ariz.

A memorial service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at the chapel at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in White River Township. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until time of the service Friday at the chapel. Arrangements are being handled by Flanner & Buchanan Funeral Center in Carmel.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
