This photo now appears to have been taken in the early 1840s, in Ohio. It was probably taken before the Walter W. Kinnick family, in Mar 1844,
floated down the Ohio River, then up the Mississippi to Bureau Co, IL.
Thanks to the Catherine (Kinnick) Fletcher descendants in Crawfordsville, IA, for sharing this fantastic photo, one the very earliest made. Photography such as this was just developed, at this time.
