
Bessie Watkins Thrasher, of Sapulpa, died Sunday, Nov. 27, 2005 at the Ranch Terrace Nursing Home at the age of 103.
Mrs. Thrasher was born Jan. 22, 1902 in Stuckey, Ark. She was a member of the Faith Baptist Church and had previously attended the First Baptist Church for 54 years. She retired from the Bartlett-Collins Glass Company. She loved working outside up until last year and she would get her cane and go out to pull weeds.
She taught second grade Sunday school, and was a teacher at 15 near Stukey, Ark.
She had a great memory of the past and saw many new developments occur during her years.
She was married to Charles Henry Thrasher in 1923 in Sapulpa. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one son Dale Thrasher.
Survivors are one son Jessie Thrasher, of Sapulpa; grandchildren C.T. Lacey, Art Thrasher, Pat Thrasher, Gene Allen Thrasher and Mary Anne Smart; great-grandchildren, Sarita Lacey, Kathleen Lacey, Dal Lacey, Hailey Thrasher, Austin Thrasher and Jarrett Thrasher; and one sister Jetta Jones.
Funeral services have been set for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2005 in the Faith Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul Littleton officiating. Interment will follow in the South Heights Cemetery under the direction of the Smith Funeral Home.
There will be a family visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday Nov. 29 in the Smith Funeral Home Chapel.
