Notes for Raymond J DREWRY
Dresden Enterprise July 10, 1914
Moores Chapel Vicinity
Last Saturday morning when most every body was celebrating the Fourth,
the home of Mr. Harve Drewry was very, very sad, as death entered that
home at 8:30 Saturday morning and claimed for itνs own Raymond. They thought
he was better Thursday and had hopes of his recovery, but, alas! it was
only a change for the worse. Raymond was at Hickman working when he was
struck down with typhoid fever. His mother was called to come at once.
She went down there and stayed two or three days, when she returned home
bringing Raymond with her. His brother, Flag, is in the army and could
not come.
Hermon was at Memphis and they thought that Raymond was doing so
well until a short while before he died that they had not sent for Hermon
to come home until it was too late. He got home Sunday morning. Raymond
leaves a father, mother, several brothers and sisters and a host of relatives
and friends to mourn his departure. He was buried at Meridian Sunday.
