Obituary of Susan A. PRICE YOUNG with picture on wall of Bethel Baptist Church.

On Saturday evening at 3 o’clock June 3rd, the death angel took from our home our dear and beloved mother Mrs Susan A. Young, age 83 years 9 months and 11 days.  She was born near Murfreesboro, Tennessee in 1832.  At age of 8 years she with her parents William Karr and Clara PRICE moved to Gibson County near Milan, Tennessee and at the age of 20 years she moved to Weakley County where she lived the remainder of her life.  She married Crockett YOUNG in 1857, to them were born eight children - five boys and three girls, all of whom are living but two boys who departed this life in young manhood.  Our dear Father preceded her to the beautiful home above, when their children were quite young.  She professed faith in Christ in early life and joined Missionary Baptist Church of Bethel of which she lived a faithful member until called away.  Dear Mother was so good and kind to all and always trusted in her God and bore her troubles bravely.  She would love to have stayed with her children whom she loved so dearly but willing to go she said, “If she did not well it was just God’s time to take her away”.  It was so hard to give up dear Mother and we are so sad and lonely but we realize that our loss is heavens gain and she is now basking in the sun light of God’s eternal love, watching and waiting for her loved ones to come. What a happy time it will be when we bow our heads in humbel submission to him who doeth all things well and say they will be done.

Sweet Mother so happy,
In that beautiful land
Just watching and waiting
To clasp our hands.
She is happy forever,
In that house so fair,
For sorrow nor death
Cannot enter there.
Some sweet day,
When sorrows are over,
We hope to meet Mother,
On younder bright shore,
where no parting will come,
Nor tears dim the eye.
