| Greenfield Gazette Friday August 30. 1940 [my words in brackets...MaryCarol] FAMILY REUNION HELD AT HOME OF HARVE DREWRY A family reunion was held Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harve Drewry at their beautiful country place southeast of Greenfield. A picnic lunch was served in the cool shade of the maple lawn. Included in the menu was delicious southern fired chicken, Virginia baked ham, pies, cakes and refreshing California lemonade. [Pricie must have brought the lemons from her San Diego “orchard” to make lemonade - I used to love her fresh made lemonade] Candid camera shots were passed around the crowd and they served to produce many laughs. The highlight of the afternoon was a record breaking watermellon contest between Mrs. Flag Drewry [Pricie Campbell Drewry] and Mr. Allen Sharp. The race was neck and neck, but after much deliberaton, Mr. Sharp received the coveted honors. [Allen Sharp was Harve Drewry’s best friend and neighbor, he named his son Flaggler (Flag) Allen Drewry - the Allen in honor Allen Sharp.
