  • Obituary: Her obituary stated: "After a few weeks' sickness, Mrs. Mary Keefer died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Henry Correl, at 552 South Lafontaine street at 6:45. Her husband, George Keefer, died about a year ago. Mrs. Keefer was born in Huntington county November 24, 1853, and had always been a resident of the county. Early in life she married George Keefer. They took residence in Huntington immediately after their marriage. To this union were born Mrs. Henry Correll, with whom she lived, Mr. E. Hunt of Parker City, and one son Boyd of this city. Surviving her are three brothers, Ezekial Allerton of this city, and James and William Allerton of Constantine, Mich., and the three children. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at two from the late residence. Dr. Frank Lenig, pastor of the First M. E. Church, will officiate and interment will be in the Zion cemetery in Jackson township."1
