This is a collection of family history research notes on some of the many descendants of George Kieffer who was born in 1789 in Pennsylvania. He lived in Northampton, Lehigh and Northumberland counties in Pennsylvania. He married first Maria Elisabeth Fink and secondly Sarah Stahl. He died in 1851 in Northumberland County, Pennsylvania.
These notes also include information on the ancestors of Craig Kieffer, the compiler, and these notes also include some other names, discovered during the research, that may or may not be related to George Kieffer or Craig Kieffer. These notes do not include living people.
Please excuse the many mistakes and omissions, as these are research notes and not a finished project.
The majority of the material in the following notes should be considered as possibly correct or probably correct, rather than absolutely correct. The reader should keep in mind that family history records often contain incorrect and inconsistent information about such things as dates of events, places of events, spellings of names and identity of family members. When conflicting records are found, it is often difficult to determine what is correct and what is not correct, and even records that look very official such as birth records, marriage records and death records, often contain errors. Therefore, it is important for the reader to evaluate the following material on their own, and decide for themselves what they believe is correct or incorrect about the people in these notes. It is very common in family history research for something that is believed "absolutely proven" one day, to be proven incorrect the next day when new records are located.
The compiler hopes that the notes are of interest to all family researchers, and the compiler welcomes comments from all interested parties.
