3. David Draper was born in 1844 in Madison County.  He died November 1934, at Rome, Oneida County NY.

David enlisted 11 Aug 1862 as a Private (age 18) in Sullivan, Madison County NY, to serve in the civil war. He was with New York State Volunteers Company I, 157th Infantry Regiment, NY, and fought in the battle at Gettysburg in July 1863. He was mustered out at Charleston, SC on 10 July 1865.

His brother William along with two of Reuben Carpenter's sons, Robert and George served with the same unit in the war.

Harriet Francelia Carpenter (daughter of Reuben S. Carpenter and Hannah C. Pennock) was born on 5 Feb 1852 in Chittenango, Madison Co., NY. She died on 20 Mar 1936 in Prongua, Sask.. 

David and Harriet (Carpenter) Draper were married August 6, 1865, and lived in Oswego NY. 

 

Their children were:

Elwin Draper was born about 1866.
Flora Draper was born about 1874. Flora married John Hawker.
Cynthia Draper was born Mar 25, 1876. Cynthia married John Wesley Northrup in 1896.

Harriet left David for his brother, Charles in Nov 1878. Charles left his wife Mary and they both went north to Canada which is  where they were when their first child Bert was born in or near Sidney Ontario in July 1879. In 1882 they headed west to Toledo Ohio, Philips Wisconsin, and  Oconto Nebraska. They moved north to Saskatchewan in 1902.

David divorced Harriet in 1911 and married Charlotte Fellows in Rome NY.
