General: William Draper listed as serving with the 157th NYSV Company I, during the Civil War. Age 20 in 1862
as a Private. He was wounded in action July 1, 1863 in the battle at Gettysburg. The pension report states: "Capt. Briggs certifies that Draper while engaged in battle received a gunshot wound through the right shoulder fracturing the bone. and before leaving the field received another gunshot wound through the right thigh by reason of which he was totally discharged."
