Note 'Edwin Mathis Mathews/Matthews born 23 dec 1811 in Gibson Co, TN. He married Patsy Sparkman on 14 Dec 1830. No futher information reguarding Patsy. However, the 1850 Census of Gibson, TN and the 1860 census of Bollinger co, MO both list Martha Ann as the spouse of Edwin Mathews. Also mentioned in the early notes of Melvin Mathews, Martha Ann is listed and her birthday is given as 24 or 29 Dec 1811. Edwin Mathews died 28 Jun 1876 in Bollinger MO. They had ten children.'1
