Services At Odds For Well-Known Man
Alex L. Wells, 83, died at 8:30 a.m., Thursday, March 22, 1951, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Elmon Clark, at John's Creek, Ky.
He was born March 27, 1867, in Johnson County, Ky., the son of James and Emmaretta Collins Wells.
A well-known and respected citizen of Odds, Ky., where he had lived all his life, he was a member of he Philadelphia Church of Christ, and had been engaged in farming from which he was retired.
His wife preceded him in death in February, 1942.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Elmon Clark, Johns Creek, Mrs. Frank Music, David, Ky., and Mrs. Eugene Wells, Van Lear, Ky., and one son, Melvin Wells, Odds, Ky. He is also survived by a sister and a brother, Mrs. Agnes Wells, Hindman, Ky., and Walker Wells, Van Lear.
Services were held at the Phildelphia Church of Christ at 1:00 p.m. , on Sunday, March 25, 1951, by Rev Harold Burnside.
Music was furnished by the Williams Quartet.
Burial was in the Wells cemetery at Odds, Ky., under the direction of the Jones Funeral Home.
