Jessie Ratliff Vanhoose, 85, of Staffordsville, formally of
Thealka, died Sunday, July 8, at Mountain Manor Nursing Home in
Paintsville.
Born August 20, 1914, in Johnson County, she was a daughter of the
late William Bud Ratliff and Katie Dale Ratliff. She was also
preceded in death by her husband, Archie Vanhoose, a son, Henry
Vanhoose, and a daughter, Jessie Horne.
Survivors include three daughters, Barbara Castle, of Enon, Ohio,
Bonnie Newsome, of Harold, and Zondra Baker, of Staffordsville;
one sister, Virgie Kimbler, of Paintsville; 16 grandchildren, 31
great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 10, at the Jones- Preston
Funeral Home Chapel, with Don Fraley, Dick Vanhoose and Mike
Blanton officiating. Burial was at Castle Family Cemetery at
Thealka.
Jones-Preston Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
